The Prometheus Ukranian Male Chorus of Philadelphia is one of the oldest Ukranian male choirs in the worls. Founded in 1962, the choir has toured in Europe in the 1980's and traveled to the Ukraine in 1995. Led by artistic director Roman Kucharskyy and accompanied by Irene Pelech Zwarych, Prometheus is celebrating their 60th anniversary. Named for the Total god of fire, who was the champion of humankind, the choir strives for the highest degree of musicianship. Prometheus continues to maintain a rich and colorful repertoire to enable audiences to experience the great beauty of Ukranian choral tradition. The choir will perform religious, folk and patriotic pieces.
